Chiropractic
Chiropractic is a natural, hands-on approach to health that focuses on the alignment and optimal function of the spine, joints, and nervous system. When misalignments—called subluxations—occur, they can interfere with the body’s communication pathways, leading to pain, dysfunction, and a variety of health concerns.
At Total Health and Healing Center, our chiropractors use a wide range of techniques to restore balance, relieve discomfort, and activate your body’s innate healing abilities. We offer both traditional manual adjustments and gentle, low-force methods such as Activator, ArthroStim, and other light-touch techniques—always tailored to your comfort and needs.
Chiropractic care can be highly effective in relieving:
Headaches and migraines
Neck and mid-back pain
Shoulder dysfunction and rotator cuff issues
Low back pain and disc-related problems
Injuries from auto accidents or personal trauma
Knee, ankle, and joint pain
Each visit is customized to your body’s unique presentation. In addition to adjustments, your session may include:
Soft tissue therapies
E-STIM (electrical stimulation)
Graston technique
Cold laser therapy
Stretching and kinesiotaping
Other targeted modalities as needed
Our chiropractic physicians can also refer for imaging such as X-rays or MRIs when necessary to ensure comprehensive and informed care. We’re here to help you move better, feel better, and live with greater ease and vitality.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a time-honored healing practice rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), involving the precise insertion of fine, sterile stainless-steel needles into specific points on the body known as acupoints. These points correspond to energy pathways, or meridians, that influence organ function, immunity, and overall health. From a modern perspective, acupuncture stimulates the nervous system, promotes circulation, and triggers the body’s natural healing mechanisms.
At Total Health and Healing Center, each acupuncture session begins with a thorough consultation that includes a review of your medical history, tongue analysis, and pulse reading—classic diagnostic tools used in TCM to gain insight into your internal health.
Treatments may include:
Retention of needles for 20–30 minutes
Electro-stimulation
Cupping therapy
Gua Sha
Manual massage techniques
Most sessions at THHC incorporate multiple modalities to enhance therapeutic outcomes and reduce symptoms more effectively. Acupuncture is a cumulative therapy—its effects build over time, helping the body to re-regulate, heal, and restore balance
Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is a powerful healing modality that uses skilled touch to assess and treat soft tissue dysfunction. It helps relieve pain, improve mobility, reduce stress, and support long-term physical and emotional wellness. Whether you’re recovering from an injury or simply need time to recharge, massage offers both therapeutic relief and deep relaxation.
At Total Health and Healing Center, our highly trained massage therapists offer a variety of techniques tailored to your needs, including:
Orthopedic & medical massage
Swedish & therapeutic massage
Hot stone and relaxation massage
Assisted stretching & cupping therapy
Massage percussor & advanced soft tissue work
Each therapist brings their own unique style, training, and healing presence to their work. Sessions are always customized to address your individual concerns—be it chronic pain, muscular tension, stress relief, or overall body maintenance.

Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy is a healthcare profession that focuses on easing pain, helping people regain their optimal body functioning, and improving peoples' quality of life. A physical therapist will evaluate the patient, do manual therapies if warranted, and teach the patient stretches and strengthening. Physical therapists can do scraping techniques, dry needling, taping, manual therapies, stretching, and mobilizations.
Best Healing Solutions
Healing Solutions is a powerful form of energy medicine developed by Beth Daniel Jones in collaboration with Quantum Techniques founder Dr. Steven Daniel. This technique is grounded in the belief that our bodies were divinely designed to heal themselves—yet environmental, emotional, and energetic interferences can block this innate ability.
These blocks may come from:
Toxins and pathogens (biological or environmental)
Electro-magnetic and geopathic stress
Emotional trauma and limiting beliefs
Nutritional deficiencies and dehydration
Interference fields within the energy system
Such stressors disrupt energy flow through key bio-informational systems in the body, such as the meridians and chakras, interfering with cellular communication and natural healing processes. Each session begins with the client sharing their current symptoms, which opens the energy field for testing. Using advanced muscle testing techniques, the practitioner scans for energetic imbalances, stressors, and toxins. Once identified, a unique healing code is developed—a combination of acupuncture and chakra points designed to:
Clear negative energy frequencies
Restore balanced energy flow
Reactivate the body’s innate healing mechanisms

Functional and Naturopathic Medicine
Functional and Naturopathic Medicine are holistic, science-based approaches that prioritize prevention, address the root causes of illness, and support the body’s natural ability to heal. Rather than suppressing symptoms, this model of care focuses on restoring balance across all levels—physical, mental, emotional, and energetic.
Core Principles of Naturopathic Medicine:
The Healing Power of Nature – Trusting and supporting the body’s innate self-healing mechanisms
Identify and Treat the Root Cause – Going beyond symptoms to address the true source of dysfunction
First, Do No Harm – Choosing the least invasive and most natural therapies whenever possible
Doctor as Teacher – Empowering patients with knowledge, tools, and guidance
Treat the Whole Person – Considering mind, body, spirit, and lifestyle in the healing process
Prevention – Cultivating long-term wellness and vitality through proactive care
Dr. Shanna and Dr. Brianna integrate the best of natural and modern medicine. Their work blends personalized therapies including:
Clinical nutrition & dietary counseling
Herbal and botanical medicine
Acupuncture and physical medicine
Lifestyle coaching & mind-body healing
Following the Therapeutic Order, they start with gentle, foundational support and progress to more advanced interventions only as needed—always tailoring care to each individual.
A Functional Medicine provider may evaluate core imbalances in:
Hormones and neurotransmitters
Detoxification and mitochondrial function
Immune regulation and inflammation
Digestion, absorption, and microbiome health
Oxidative stress and cellular repair
Structural and energetic alignment
To guide treatment, we utilize both conventional and functional lab testing, drawing from a broad spectrum of insights. Blood draws are typically done locally at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids for convenience and affordability. Functional labs take a deeper look and may include blood, urine, saliva, hair, or stool testing.
Common functional tests include:
Food and environmental allergy testing
Micronutrient analysis
Gastrointestinal and microbiome evaluation
Heavy metal, mold, and toxin screenings
Hormone and adrenal panels
We work closely with top labs including Genova Diagnostics, Great Plains, IGenX, MDL, and Doctor’s Data to get a complete picture of your health.
At Total Health and Healing Center, we believe that knowledge is power, and healing happens when we treat the whole person, not just the diagnosis. Functional and Naturopathic Medicine are powerful tools for transformation—designed to help you feel better, live fully, and thrive naturally.
Animal Chiropractic
Animal Chiropractic is the art of diagnosing and treating vertebral and extremity subluxations found in your animal. How can you tell if you cat or dog needs to be adjusted? They may be presenting with one or more of the following signs:
Behavioral changes
Unusual posture while standing or sitting
Performance decreases
Sensitivity or pain with touch or picking up
Inability or reluctance to climb up and down stairs or furniture
Pain when taking collar or harness off
CranioSacral Therapy and Myofascial Release
CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on technique developed by Dr. John Upledger, D.O., designed to release deep tension and promote healing from within. By working with the body’s craniosacral system—which includes the skull, spine, sacrum, diaphragms, and surrounding fascia—this therapy supports the flow of cerebrospinal fluid and restores harmony to the nervous system.
This subtle yet powerful therapy is deeply relaxing and beneficial for all ages. It may help with:
Chronic pain
Headaches and migraines
Stress and anxiety
Trauma and emotional tension
Sleep disturbances
Nervous system imbalances
Sessions are typically experienced as calming, grounding, and profoundly restorative—offering a reset for the whole body.
Myofascial Release is a specialized hands-on therapy that focuses on the fascia—the connective tissue that weaves throughout the entire body, surrounding muscles, bones, and organs. When fascia becomes tight or restricted, it can cause discomfort, limited mobility, and chronic tension. Using gentle, sustained pressure and slow stretching, this technique works to release restrictions and restore natural movement and alignment. It is especially effective for:
Postural imbalances
Chronic pain or tension
Scar tissue and adhesions
Limited range of motion
Recovery from injury
Myofascial Release helps to create space and ease within the tissues, supporting the body’s innate healing ability. It’s a deeply therapeutic experience that can offer long-lasting relief and balance.

Facial Reflexology
Facial Reflexology is a deeply relaxing and therapeutic treatment that works by stimulating specific points on the face that correspond to organs, systems, and areas throughout the body. These points are mapped out based on reflexology principles, allowing us to detect imbalances and support the body’s natural healing process.
Your session begins with a warm towel applied to the face, softening the muscles and preparing the skin. A gentle facial massage follows, incorporating gua sha stones and manual release techniques to promote circulation and ease tension.
Using a precise metal detector tool and light acupressure, we stimulate facial reflex points with soft circular motions and strokes, encouraging balance and energy flow throughout the body.
The session concludes with warm stones and light lymphatic pumping techniques to support drainage in the head and neck, along with a soothing scalp and ear massage for a full-body sense of calm and renewal.
Facial Reflexology not only leaves your skin glowing—it helps restore harmony from the inside out.
Lymphatic Drainage
The lymphatic system is the body’s natural waste removal network—essential for detoxification, immune function, and overall vitality. When lymph becomes stagnant or congested, it can lead to symptoms like fatigue, brain fog, bloating, and a general sense of heaviness.
This full-body lymphatic drainage session is designed to stimulate the natural flow of lymph using gentle, rhythmic pumping and light stroking techniques. These movements help guide lymph fluid toward the appropriate regional lymph nodes, supporting your body’s ability to drain, recycle, and restore balance.
You’ll remain fully draped throughout the session, with only the specific area being worked on exposed at any given time, ensuring both comfort and privacy.
Dr. Amy is certified in the Vodder Technique through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies—an internationally recognized method known for its precision and effectiveness in therapeutic lymphatic care.
SomatoEmotional Release and Counseling
Dr. Shanna offers deeply transformative healing sessions that address the emotional and energetic imprints held within the body. Using SomatoEmotional Release (SER)—a powerful extension of CranioSacral Therapy developed by Dr. John Upledger—she facilitates the release of unresolved emotions and trauma stored in the tissues and energy centers of the body. Emotional blocks can stem from physical or psychological experiences, often lingering silently in the body for years or even decades. These unresolved patterns can manifest as chronic pain, fatigue, anxiety, or a sense of disconnection from self. As a licensed clinical counselor, Dr. Shanna is also able to incorporate talk therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and person-centered counseling to provide support and grounding during the emotional healing process.
Each session is personalized to meet you where you are—honoring your lived experience, emotional landscape, and personal healing goals.
