Acupuncture is a time-honored healing practice rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), involving the precise insertion of fine, sterile stainless-steel needles into specific points on the body known as acupoints. These points correspond to energy pathways, or meridians, that influence organ function, immunity, and overall health. From a modern perspective, acupuncture stimulates the nervous system, promotes circulation, and triggers the body’s natural healing mechanisms.
At Total Health and Healing Center, each acupuncture session begins with a thorough consultation that includes a review of your medical history, tongue analysis, and pulse reading—classic diagnostic tools used in TCM to gain insight into your internal health.

Treatments may include:
Retention of needles for 20–30 minutes
Electro-stimulation
Cupping therapy
Gua Sha
Manual massage techniques

Most sessions at THHC incorporate multiple modalities to enhance therapeutic outcomes and reduce symptoms more effectively. Acupuncture is a cumulative therapy—its effects build over time, helping the body to re-regulate, heal, and restore balance

Healing Solutions is a powerful form of energy medicine developed by Beth Daniel Jones in collaboration with Quantum Techniques founder Dr. Steven Daniel. This technique is grounded in the belief that our bodies were divinely designed to heal themselves—yet environmental, emotional, and energetic interferences can block this innate ability.
These blocks may come from:
Toxins and pathogens (biological or environmental)
Electro-magnetic and geopathic stress
Emotional trauma and limiting beliefs
Nutritional deficiencies and dehydration
Interference fields within the energy system

Such stressors disrupt energy flow through key bio-informational systems in the body, such as the meridians and chakras, interfering with cellular communication and natural healing processes. Each session begins with the client sharing their current symptoms, which opens the energy field for testing. Using advanced muscle testing techniques, the practitioner scans for energetic imbalances, stressors, and toxins. Once identified, a unique healing code is developed—a combination of acupuncture and chakra points designed to:
Clear negative energy frequencies
Restore balanced energy flow
Reactivate the body’s innate healing mechanisms

Before Your Session:
Please visit www.besthealingsolutions.com to fill out your client paperwork and access helpful resources. You’ll find downloadable charts, manuals, and instructions to familiarize yourself with:
Imprinting and treatment points
Chakra balancing
The Nine Gamut Sequence
Time Saver Codes

Functional and Naturopathic Medicine are holistic, science-based approaches that prioritize prevention, address the root causes of illness, and support the body’s natural ability to heal. Rather than suppressing symptoms, this model of care focuses on restoring balance across all levels—physical, mental, emotional, and energetic.

Core Principles of Naturopathic Medicine:
The Healing Power of Nature – Trusting and supporting the body’s innate self-healing mechanisms
Identify and Treat the Root Cause – Going beyond symptoms to address the true source of dysfunction
First, Do No Harm – Choosing the least invasive and most natural therapies whenever possible
Doctor as Teacher – Empowering patients with knowledge, tools, and guidance
Treat the Whole Person – Considering mind, body, spirit, and lifestyle in the healing process
Prevention – Cultivating long-term wellness and vitality through proactive care

Dr. Shanna and Dr. Brianna integrate the best of natural and modern medicine. Their work blends personalized therapies including:
Clinical nutrition & dietary counseling
Herbal and botanical medicine
Acupuncture and physical medicine
Lifestyle coaching & mind-body healing

Following the Therapeutic Order, they start with gentle, foundational support and progress to more advanced interventions only as needed—always tailoring care to each individual.

A Functional Medicine provider may evaluate core imbalances in:
Hormones and neurotransmitters
Detoxification and mitochondrial function
Immune regulation and inflammation
Digestion, absorption, and microbiome health
Oxidative stress and cellular repair
Structural and energetic alignment

To guide treatment, we utilize both conventional and functional lab testing, drawing from a broad spectrum of insights. Blood draws are typically done locally at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids for convenience and affordability. Functional labs take a deeper look and may include blood, urine, saliva, hair, or stool testing.

Common functional tests include:
Food and environmental allergy testing
Micronutrient analysis
Gastrointestinal and microbiome evaluation
Heavy metal, mold, and toxin screenings
Hormone and adrenal panels

We work closely with top labs including Genova Diagnostics, Great Plains, IGenX, MDL, and Doctor’s Data to get a complete picture of your health.

At Total Health and Healing Center, we believe that knowledge is power, and healing happens when we treat the whole person, not just the diagnosis. Functional and Naturopathic Medicine are powerful tools for transformation—designed to help you feel better, live fully, and thrive naturally.

Facial Reflexology is a deeply relaxing and therapeutic treatment that works by stimulating specific points on the face that correspond to organs, systems, and areas throughout the body. These points are mapped out based on reflexology principles, allowing us to detect imbalances and support the body’s natural healing process.
Your session begins with a warm towel applied to the face, softening the muscles and preparing the skin. A gentle facial massage follows, incorporating gua sha stones and manual release techniques to promote circulation and ease tension.
Using a precise metal detector tool and light acupressure, we stimulate facial reflex points with soft circular motions and strokes, encouraging balance and energy flow throughout the body.
The session concludes with warm stones and light lymphatic pumping techniques to support drainage in the head and neck, along with a soothing scalp and ear massage for a full-body sense of calm and renewal.
Facial Reflexology not only leaves your skin glowing—it helps restore harmony from the inside out.
